What is a CRS Score?

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is the points-based system Canada uses to rank candidates in the Express Entry immigration pool. Your CRS score (out of 1,200) determines whether you receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency. The higher your score, the better your chances.

How is Your CRS Score Calculated?

Your score is based on four main factors:

Additional points come from a Provincial Nomination (+600 points), a valid job offer, Canadian education, French proficiency, and having a sibling in Canada.

What is a Good CRS Score in 2026?

In 2026, general Express Entry draw cutoffs have ranged between 480-520 CRS points. However, category-based draws for healthcare, trades, STEM, transport, and French-speaking candidates often have cutoffs 50-100 points lower. A Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) nomination adds 600 points, virtually guaranteeing an invitation.
